We’re happy to share the ordination video of our newest MSC deacon, Miguel Piamba. The ordination took place in Colombia in December and was filmed by a Catholic parish ministry, Jesús Eucaristía Radio. Please enjoy the video and the translation below!
Narrator: On Saturday, December 5th, 2015, we celebrated the Eucharistic Celebration of the Diaconal and Ministerial Ordinations at the Cathedral of Saint James the Apostle, of Fontibón, performed by Monsignor Juan Vicente Córdoba, Bishop of Fontibón.
Bishop Juan Vicente Córdoba: To everyone listening to Jesús Eucaristía Radio, I give my paternal greetings and, as a pastor, I give my Benediction. In this ordination celebration of deacons, acolytes and lector ministers in our beloved diocese of Fontibón, I ask for prayers from everybody. It is the Lord who grants, and we who humbly receive. I ask that you pray for these new deacons, acolytes, and lectors. Please pray for our temple, for the whole church.
I invite you to return on Thursday, December 10th, at 11 a.m., to the Cathedral of Saint James the Apostle, of Fontibón, and we shall open the Holy Door, mandated by Pope Francis, to celebrate the Jubilee of Mercy, which will also be celebrated in Rome, and at all the Cathedrals through the the world. Here, we will be joined by all priests, deacons, seminarians, all the baptized… May the Lord bless you! Have a great day, and may the Lord remain with you, Amen!
Narrator: This celebration was attended by friends and family of the ordained…
Mother: Good afternoon. I thank God for having a son who has been ordained a deacon. It’s a message God has given me to serve Him and all people around us. May the blessing of all the parents of these newly ordained be upon him and his companions. Thank you.
Narrator: Without a doubt, some new apostles have been called to serve Christ and our Catholic Church.
Fr. Javier Moreno: We were just at the ordination of three deacons, and one religious and are very happy to conclude the celebration, in which you viewers have participated. It is so good that you accompanied us by this media and we hope you will continue to pray. I’m Fr. Javier Moreno, Rector of the seminary celebrating this event. On Thursday, we invite you to return to help inaugurate the Year of Mercy. God bless you!
