Today’s readings render a strong critique of those Church leaders who look for honor and glory while forgetting the sincere, simple and generous people who have supported their ministry. Everyday benefactors who make sacrifices in order to give to Churches and organizations, do so with a sincere heart. They presume that their offerings will be used to help others. If Church leaders seek their own honor and glory instead of service, they might buy the temporary esteem of some people but eternal honor and glory are given not by what one has but rather by what one has given.
