Our Lady of the Sacred Heart is a title given to Mary by the founder of the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, Fr. Jules Chevalier, as a special devotion in thanks for her help and intercession in founding the missionary order. The Feast Day of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart falls on May 27, 2017, and the novena for her intercession begins on May 19.
Fr. Chevalier also wanted to honor Mary’s unique graces and honors given to her by God over the heart of his son. The MSC entrust to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart all difficult, extreme and hopeless cases, both spiritual and temporal. Over the years, the devotion to Our Lady of the Sacred Heart has grown in religious orders and faith communities around the world.
If you are looking for hope, mercy, healing in your life, join us in praying the novena this year and entrusting your prayers with Our Lady. If you participate in the novena, your prayer intentions will be united with all those praying, especially the MSC who pray for the intentions they receive in their daily prayer and Masses.
Don’t forget to share your intentions in the comments below. (Please refrain from sharing private health and personal details. If you have a specific intention to share, you can always write “for a special intention.”)

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart
we understand more than ever
the inestimable part you play
in the work of our redemption
and the importance of your mediation
in applying its fruits to us.
Never perhaps have we understood so clearly
the basis for your all-powerful intercession,
of your love for us,
and your role as Queen over us.
And so we understand the validity of your title,
Our Lady of the Sacred Heart,
that expresses the meaning
of these sublime privileges!
This title means that Mary
is our Queen, our Mother
and consequently Our Lady;
it means that the graces she gives us
come from the Heart of Jesus,
who has been pleased to put into her hands
all the treasures of his mercy.
And all these prerogatives
arise from her cooperation
in the work of our salvation.

During the past year, the Missionaries have been working tirelessly to develop our popular Life’s Healing Journey retreat ministry by reaching out to the local community in Illinois and around the country, offering more retreats in English and Spanish, training new team members and MSC priests, creating e-books, blogs, and a newsletter to share the spirituality of LHJ, and more. The response to the retreat has been enthusiastic and called miraculous and life-changing. Will you consider donating to the LHJ ministry to help offer more resources to those who need healing, connection, and to know the true love of God?
