Celebrating the Year of Faith
Benedict XVI proclaimed a "year of faith" (from 10-11-2012 until 11-24-2013) to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Second Vatican Council. He invited us to continue on the journey of faith enlightened by the study of the Documents of that Council and the Catechism of the Catholic Church, one of the fruits of that Council. Therefore, each day of this year of faith, you will find here a quote from the Council Documents or the Catechism as a help to "rediscover and study the fundamental content of the faith."

May 21
By her complete adherence to the Father’s will, to his Son’s redemptive work, and to every prompting of the Holy Spirit, the Virgin Mary is the Church’s model of faith and charity. Thus she is a “preeminent and... wholly unique member of the Church”; indeed, she is the “exemplary realization” (typus) of the Church.
(Catechism of the Catholic Church, 967) |
