Mary listens with her heart, dialogues, believes, because nothing is impossible to God. Then she answers God’s call and is fully committed to the Lord in her response of ‘Yes’. She gives of herself as she leaves and journeys towards Elizabeth’s home. To do so she had to leave her own home in order to encounter others. Mary the missionary, always on the way.
“The love in the Heart of Jesus urges her on; she does not want to cause any delay. Weariness is nothing for her; the Will of God is everything. Do we have the same zeal as Mary to do the good that is within our power?" Jules Chevalier
To celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, let’s reflect on how Mary answered God’s call to participate in his work of redemption and how we can also say “yes” to God’s will for our lives.
- How do I experience the call of God in my life today? What is God calling me to do?
- What good is within my power to do? How can I be a missionary and reach out to others?

Our Lady of the Sacred Heart - Called by God
The young woman from Nazareth is called by God: Mary listens with her heart, dialogues, believes, because nothing is impossible to God. Then she answers God's call.
Question for Reflection:
How can I say "yes" to the Spirit in my life today?
