Path to Inner Peace...
“When I grow up....” But, do we ever completely grow up? Don’t we sometimes have the feeling that we are children masquerading as adults? Don’t we sometimes behave like children, throwing modified tantrums and crying over spilt milk? Unhealed childhood hurts contribute directly to unhealthy adult life-styles and behavior. Healing Childhood Hurts is a weekend of healing the effects of one’s childhood disappointments and losses, of freeing one from harmful behaviors that diminish one’s capacity for genuine loving relationships.
During this weekend, the participant will explore the stages of her/his childhood development. Talks, guided reflection, and small group sharing will shed light on how unhealthy aspects of living may have their roots in childhood experiences, and need no longer dictate one’s behavior. Healing Childhood Hurts is structured to provide a safe, non-pressured environment, where a participant may view the pain of past experiences, and come to appreciate the blessing of lovingly carrying the child within.
Each morning begins with the optional celebration of the Eucharist, and each day is peppered with optional prayer time. Healing Childhood Hurts is fueled by the knowledge that each is a child of God, uniquely loved by God. That God, our loving parent, is a faithful father and mother, who desires our happiness.
